After further investigation, we also found out the state has been threatening the revocation of its license for a couple of months now due to elderly abuse and neglect. Harmony Hills then proceeded to tell everybody that they have to vacate within 2 weeks. The state of Utah revoked the license of harmony hills. We got a call from our family members who live there today and they were frantic. There have been many times when we see residents who have fallen down and are not getting help up. Countless times our family has had to sit with a soiled diaper for hours because the staff doesn’t respond to the pendant. Not responding to when residents push their pendant button for help. Missed doses, claiming that they are out of medication etc. Harmony Hills has not managed medications correctly at all. Our family who lives here has had to call us over and over because of the negligence and lack of care. The director (who was just fired) and the medical coordinator (also fired) lied time and time again about how they were providing care to the residents. This place has lost its license and is being shut down by the state. Our family who lives here has had to call us over and over because of the negl. Not to mention all of the medication errors. Now, they actually have two weeks to “rehome” their existing residents because they cannot provide competent, safe, care. They lost their ability to admit new residents temporarily because of being out of compliance on many care related issues. My dad felt so sorry for this girl that he would go to the dining room to set the tables for her, even though he was weakened by cancer. Once when their cook quit they made an aide take over kitchen duties for over 30 residents. Often when I walk by the nurses station, the untrained “aides” are sitting on the sofa. She became incontinent on the floor, slipped in it and fell, and sat on the floor for twenty minutes before they finally responded to the emergency bell. My stepmom needs more assistance and once waited so long to go to the bathroom that my cancer stricken dad tried to take her. Besides that, they were skipped for meals at times, and the call bells just don’t get answered. We bought several fans to keep him comfortable until they finally got it fixed. My dad had respiratory diseases so this caused him a great deal of discomfort. They moved in in late July to a room without working air conditioning. I will take the regret I have over sending my parents here to the grave. We bought several fans to keep him comfortable until they finally got it fixe.
